Northern School of Business also known as NOBISCO is a mixed-gender school found in Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana.[1]

History

Mr. A. S. O. Arthur founded the Northern School of Business, as it is now called, as a private institution in 1972. After that, the school was housed in a temporary building lacking piped water, electricity, and other necessities for a typical establishment. In 1976, the school became a part of the public system. In 1991, it was transformed into a Senior Secondary School.[2][3] The current headmaster is Alhassan Issah Dokurugu.[4]

Population

The school had more than 3,000 students enrolled as of November 2022, and roughly 227 teaching and support staff members.[5]

Vision

To give its students a top-notch education so they can earn the credentials needed to continue their education in post-secondary institutions, and grow into law-abiding, contributing citizens prepared to take on leadership roles in the nation's efforts to combat poverty and advance socioeconomic development. It also encourages extracurricular activities that are essential for the development of human resources.[6]

Alumni

The school's alumni include Ghana's Northern Regional Minister, Shani Alhassan Shaibu; Deputy Energy Minister, Mohammed Amin Adam Anta; and Vice Chancellor for the University for Development Studies, Professor Seidu Al-Hassan.[5]
