Pamela Enyonu

Pamela Enyonu (born 1985) is a Ugandan media artist born and raised in Uganda[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] who won the Mukumbya Musoke Art Prize 2018.[2] She is a visual artist who uses collage, painting, photography and assemblage with a focus on the politics of identity, trauma and healing.[8][9][10]

Education and career history

She studied Art and Design from Kyambogo University.[1][6][6][11] However, her art career started in 2017 with a 3 months residency at 32 degrees East, in Kampala,[12] where she navigated the politics of identity, trauma, and healing.[1][2][11] Pamela later hosted a solo exhibition in June 2017.[1][13] In 2020, she had an artist's residency in Paris, France on the occasion of Africa.[1][11] In 2022, Pamela concluded her residency at AKKA Project[14] in Venice, Italy and also Zurich, Switzerland hosted by ProHelvetia.[1][11]
