Pankaj Mohite[1] was born on 24 June 1999 in Wadala area of Mumbai, Maharashtra. Growing up, Pankaj had a very difficult childhood, as he lost his father at the age of 12. He grew up with his mother and two sisters. Pankaj gives all the credit for his success to his elder sister, who has faced difficulties for the family after losing their father.[2]

Early life[edit]
He grew up in Wadala and used to play Kabaddi with his neighborhood friends at the nearby Kabaddi ground.[3] As he started getting better at the game, his interest grew and he decided to pursue a career in Kabaddi.[4]
Pankaj[5] joined Maharishi Dayanand College, Mumbai, which has alumni like Rishank Devadiga and Sonali Shingate. Pankaj's[6] Kabaddi skills were nurtured in college where he got the opportunity to practice with various players.[7]
