Parmar (Jat clan)

Parmar^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4] some-times also spelled as Panwar^[5]^[6] is a gotra (clan) of the farming Jat community of India. They have a large population in many villages based in the north Indian states of Punjab, Rajasthan, Western-Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, India.

But mostly, their population is found in Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab. Munirka village is located near to Jawaharlal Nehru University and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is a dominant village of Parmar/Panwar Jats.^[6]^[7]

Talwinder Singh Parmar, a Jat Sikh separatist for the Khalistan state and founder of Babbar Khalsa International, also belonged to the Parmar clan of the Jat Sikh community.
