Philip Cody Neilson is an American stuntman, film director, second unit director, and actor, most known for his work in superhero movies and with Ben Stiller, Peter Berg, and Ridley Scott.
Life and career
[edit]In 2008, Neilson was nominated for a Taurus World Stunt Award for "Best Stunt Coordinator and/or 2nd Unit Director" for his work on Jon Favreau's Iron Man.[1] That same year, he served as second unit director on Ben Stiller's Tropic Thunder alongside E. J. Foerster.[2]
In 2016, Neilson served as second unit director on Ben-Hur for Timur Bekmambetov, specifically directed the chariot race sequence, chosen by Bekmambetov based on his prior work with director Ridley Scott.[3]
Among the other films Neilson has directed second unit on include Tears of the Sun, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Fantastic Four, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Alamo, Battleship, and The A-Team.[4]
