Political positions of Alan Peter Cayetano
Alan Peter Cayetano, a Senator of the Philippines[1] and the 22nd Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Philippines,[2] has held various political positions over his career, Cayetano's ideologies include Populism and Conservatism.
Domestic policies[edit]
Corruption[edit]
Considering Cayetano was one of the senators who led the investigation against Jejomar Binay,[3] Cayetano is an advocate for anti-corruption.[4][5]
Social Inequality[edit]
Cayetano believes Decentralization will spread economic growth, requiring government offices to be outside Manila.[4][6]
Climate change[edit]
Cayetano believes that disasters and climate change need multiple departments, considering he filed a bill for a new disaster department. [4]
Bangsamoro peace process[edit]
Cayetano is one of the biggest critics of the Bangsamoro Basic Law, believing that it would give more power to terrorist organizations.[4]
Overseas Filipino Workers[edit]
Cayetano believes that the decentralization law would return Overseas Filipino Workers, giving them more jobs.[4]
