The St. Petersburg Pier, simply called "The Pier" by locals, was a major tourist destination in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. Some of the activities and sights it encompasses include: fishing, boat rentals, weekly festivals, and the pier aquarium. Shopping, dining and nightlife are other amenities.

Dry Tortugas National Park preserves Fort Jefferson and the Dry Tortugas section of the Florida Keys. The park covers 101 mi² (262 km²), mostly water, about 68 statute miles (109 km) west of Key West in the Gulf of Mexico.

Discovery Cove is a theme park near Orlando, Florida where guests can interact with a variety of marine animals, most notably bottlenose dolphins. The park, which is operated by the Busch Entertainment Corporation (the theme park division of Anheuser-Busch) is adjacent to SeaWorld Orlando. In addition to swimming with dolphins, Discovery Cove guests can interact with exotic birds, tropical fishes, rays and land mammals.

The TPC at Sawgrass is a well-known golf course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, and was the inaugural Tournament Players Club. Sawgrass has two courses, the Stadium Course and the Valley Course, and is also home to the PGA Tour's headquarters. The Stadium Course at the TPC at Sawgrass is home to The PLAYERS Championship, the PGA Tour's flagship event, and is widely regarded as one of the toughest golf courses in the world

The Myakka River is a river in southwestern Florida. It arises near the Hardee-Manatee county line and flows southwest and then southeast through Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte counties to Charlotte Harbor, an arm of the Gulf of Mexico. The river is 68 miles long and has a drainage basin of 235 square miles. The last twenty miles of the river is tidal and brackish.

Everglades National Park is a national park in the state of Florida. The largest subtropical wilderness in the United States, it contains the southern 25 percent of the original Everglades marshland region of southwestern Florida. Visited by one million people each year,it is the third-largest national park in the lower 48 states after Death Valley National Park and Yellowstone National Park.

Florida State Hospital at Chattahoochee was established in 1876 and until 1947 it was Florida's only state mental institution. The hospital was originally the site of the Apalachicola Arsenal built in the 1830s and named after the nearby Apalachicola River. The hospital's current Administration Building is the original Officers' Quarters of the Arsenal and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Disney's Polynesian Resort is a Disney-owned Deluxe resort located at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, United States, that began operation on October 1, 1971. The resort has a South Pacific and Hawaiian theme. It was originally called the Polynesian Village, "Resort" replaced "Village" after the resort hotel's expansion in 1985. This is one of two of the original Disney World resorts, the other one being the Contemporary resort.

Fort Pickens is a pentagonal historic United States military fort on Santa Rosa Island in the Pensacola, Florida area. It is named after American Revolutionary War hero Andrew Pickens. The fort was completed in 1834 and remained in use until 1947.
