American Civil War portal Featured article page

[edit]

The following are all subject matter articles which have achieved FA status. In order to honor the hard work contributors and editors have made in each case, I intend to use each of these articles in the below order before any FA's created after the following date stamp unless the members of the ACW task force wish to endorse another candidate.

Unless otherwise stated, I'll copy the introduction from the article at the beginning of each quarter, and while we may copy edit this a bit, especially for context and wikifying, I'll ask users to help us maintain a relatively stable version for the quarter, asking users to make their changes on the article, not this pointer toward that article. Changing portal "Featured article" to a monthly (instead of quarterly) rotation

[edit]

Looks like ACW Task force has fair number of FAs now, and rate of new FA has increased enough where I feel pretty good about making this change. I'll be posting the rotation in the queue before year's end, and will make the change on 1/1/8. BusterD 00:26, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Here's my proposed FA Queue for 2008

[edit]
  1. Battle of Hampton Roads (January, 2008)
  2. Gettysburg Address (February, 2008)
  3. George B. McClellan (March, 2008)
  4. Ku Klux Klan (April, 2008)
  5. Ironclad warship (May, 2008)
  6. Battle of Shiloh (June, 2008)
  7. Lawrence Sullivan Ross (July, 2008)
  8. Confederate government of Kentucky (August, 2008)
  9. Winfield Scott Hancock (September, 2008)
  10. Uncle Tom's Cabin (October, 2008)
  11. Thomas C. Hindman (November, 2008)
  12. Harriet Tubman (December, 2008)

Tried to mix up north and south, bio and battle and background. If no one objects, I'll implement this for Jan 1. BusterD (talk) 13:23, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
