Colors[edit]

I noticed the text in the headings is currently red. I suggest it be changed to black, however, since it may make the page look a bit more professional. --tomf688 (talk - email) 20:01, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to get the colors to match the flag, but since the red and yellow really aren't used together on the flag, I guess black would make more sense there.-Jeff (talk) 02:59, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hullo! I have something to say. How about swapping the colors? A couple of minutes in paint: http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/5937/colorswaprm2.png I think it looks a lot softer on the eyes. 138.88.128.241 15:52, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a new section at the bottom called "tools" which provides links to edit the master box header (which also includes the colors, including the border) and the footer. So now editing the style is more easily accessible to everyone, this is a wiki after all.-Jeff (talk) 19:41, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I quite like the color modifications by the anon posted above. Any objections to them? --tomf688 (talk - email) 20:40, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No objections here, I like that look, it would definitely make it look more professional.-Jeff (talk) 21:47, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

On this day...[edit]

Here's a feature I've been planning, it will basically be the same as on this day... from the main page. If you want to contribute, just go to Portal:Maryland/On this day, choose a day from the list and edit it's page, items should be listed in the same format as the main page's on this day. I'll add a box for it on the portal page when all (or at least most) of the days have at least one item listed under them. Also, don't worry about someone having to update it every day, lists will be transcluded onto the main page using {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} and {{CURRENTDAY}}. So it will be updated automatically.-Jeff (talk) 02:45, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Getting this going[edit]

I know this is a busy time of year for all of us, but I hope we can at least get this started. We should have a selected article picked out so it and the selected picture can be added. We do have two selected pictures lined up, but they are both of things in Baltimore, I'd like to have a little variety in them. And finally if you are looking for a fairly easy way to help, you can help out with "on this day", all you need to know is a notable event having to do with Maryland and the day it occurred on.-Jeff (talk) 02:38, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Revising[edit]

Any reason why "On this day..." was removed? Is it OK to re-add it?-Jeff (talk) 15:47, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notice from the Portals WikiProject[edit]

WikiProject Portals is back!

The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018. Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, support the ongoing improvement of portals and the editors dedicated to this, and design the portals of the future.

As of May 2nd, 2018, membership is at 60 editors, and growing. You are welcome to join us.

There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for improving each component of portals. So far, 2 new dynamic components have been developed: Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.

Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.

And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.

From your friendly neighborhood Portals WikiProject. Hope to see you there. Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   07:37, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This portal has been updated and expanded:

  • Overhauled portal with modernized wiki markup using transclusion from articles to display content, which provides readers with current, up-to-date information.
  • The portal now has new, separate Featured article, Good article and Selected article sections.
  • New content was added to all of these new sections.
  • Additional cleanup and layout changes have been performed.
  • Additional articles for the portal can be considered from those available in the table listed below. North America1000 18:30, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Transclude featured, good and selected articles[edit]
