Pratihar (Rajput clan)

Pratihar also called Pratihara is a clan of Rajputs.[1] They ruled a number of principalities including Kannauj,[2][1] Nagod,[3] and Mandore.[4]

Etymology and origin

The word Pratihara means Door-keeper and they claim to be descendants of Lord Lakshmana who was a Pratihara (door-keeper) of his brother Rama.[5][6] [2]
