Qaleh Meydan (Persian: قلعه ميدان, also Romanized as Qal‘eh Meydān, Qal‘eh-i-Maidān, Qal‘eh-ye Meydān, Qallah-i-Maidān)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Rob-e Shamat Rural District[4] of Shamkan District, Sheshtamad County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran.
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 391 in 103 households, when it was in the former Sheshtamad District of Sabzevar County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 401 people in 114 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 340 people in 113 households.[2]
In February 2019, the district was separated from the county to establish Sheshtamad County and divided into two districts, each with two rural districts. The city of Sheshtomad became the new county's capital.[7] The village of Shamkan was later elevated to the status of a city and became the capital of Shamkan District.[8]
