Qingdao No.1 International School of Shandong Province (Chinese: 山东省青岛第一国际学校, QISS) is overseen by Qingdao Local Bureau of Education and provides education for Chinese children with foreign passports. Approximately 200 students attend classes from Pre-K to 12th grade. QISS is an ACAMIS member school and accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges Board (WASC). The School is located in Laoshan district Qingdao, China.

History

QISS is located on a beautiful and spacious 48,000 square meter campus in the Laoshan district of Qingdao, Shandong Province in China. In 2018, during an off-campus social event, the Admissions and Development Coordinator of the school made overt sexual advances towards a seventeen-year-old QISS student and groped her. Between 2018 and 2020, the advisor to the student council engaged in the grooming of a high school student by sending her intimate texts throughout the school day, on weekends, and during vacations. In May 2021, a math teacher was caught watching inappropriate adult material on his cellphone during class. The QISS campus is surrounded by the remarkable Laoshan mountain range and the campus consists of a stunning collection of modern facilities that support students’ academic, athletic, and social development.

Curriculum

The QISS curriculum is designed to follow the U.S. Common Core Standards and the standards set by the College Board. The school offers AP classes and is a PSAT and SAT designated testing site.
