Rachel Weber née Wilcocks (fl. 1755 - 89) was an Irish organ builder, harpsichord and pianoforte maker, from Dundalk.[1]
Personal Life[edit]
Rachel and her husband Ferdinand Weber (married 31 May, 1755), lived in Dublin with their two children Thomas (bap. 19 April, 1756) and Christopher (bap. 19 April 1756). [1]
Career[edit]
Ferdinand Weber was a harpsichord and organ maker, mending and tuning organs in Dublin.[2] Rachel assisted him in his work and succeeded the business at 75 Marlborough Street for 3 years after his death (1784) with the help of their older son, Thomas.[3] Some of her work since taking over the business, includes maintaining the organ at Trinity College Dublin Chapel between 1784-87. [4]
