Ravindra Kumar Mishra ((IAST: Ravindra Kumāra Miśra; born 15 July 1955) in Darbhanga, Bihar) is the former Deputy Director General of the Indian Department of Telecommunications (DOT), and currently the Vice President of the ITU-APT Foundation of India.

Education

Mishra completed his schooling at GKPV Rasiyari Darbhanga, where he passed PU SC (equivalent to today's Class XI). He obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communications from the Institution of Engineers, Kolkata.[1]

Civil Services career

Ravindra Kumar Mishra cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Engineering Services Examination in his first attempt at the age of 25 in the Year 1981. He joined the Indian Telecom Service (ITS) Group 'A' Cadre as part of the 1981 batch.

Post retirement from government

After retiring from government service in 2015, Ravindra Kumar Mishra continued his involvement in the telecom sector as an independent consultant. His contributions include:

  • Vice President, ITU-APT Foundation of India: Elected as Vice President, Mishra has been actively involved in promoting international telecommunications cooperation.[4]
  • Treasurer, DCIF (A unit of PTCIF): Contributing to regional telecom development.[5]
  • Coordinator, ITU-T and ITU-D Study Groups: Leading discussions and initiatives on telecommunications standardization and development.
  • NGN Forum in India: Promoted the Next Generation Network (NGN) Forum, focusing on capacity building and emerging technologies in India.
  • CEO, SAAM CorpAdvisors Pvt Ltd, RK Mishra supports the telecom industry in regulatory compliance, fostering partnerships, and advancing the vision of "Connecting the Unconnected" in rural India.[6][failed verification]
