"Resolution/Revolution" is a song by American rock band the Linda Lindas, released July 31, 2023, on Epitaph Records.[1] It was written by Bela Salazar, Eloise Wong, and sisters Lucia and Mila de la Garza,[2] and was produced by Carlos de la Garza.[3][4]

For the Spotify release, the B-side was "Too Many Things".[5][6]

Background[edit]

Following the Linda Lindas' release of their debut studio album, Growing Up (2022),[7] the band released the single "Too Many Things".[8]

The Linda Lindas released "Resolution/Revolution" on July 31, 2021.[9][10] They were on an arena tour with Paramore,[11] for the North American leg of the This Is Why Tour.[12]

Composition[edit]

The song is classified as a punk rock[3][4] and power pop[13] song, with influences from riot grrrl style.[14] In a review at Far Out, editor Aimee Ferrier says the song "[blends] the accessibility of pop with the raw energy and power of punk."[15]

"Resolution/Revolution" was influenced by Pantera and Judas Priest, as Bela Salazar had been listening to them.[16]

Music video[edit]

The music video was shot by the band members on their phones.[17] It was directed by Bela Salazar and edited by Eloise Wong.[18]
