Orange City Council is composed of 11 councillors elected proportionally to a single ward.

Councillor Glenn Floyd left the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party (SFFP) on 13 December 2022 after comments made by party leader Robert Borsak. As a result, SFFP is not recontesting Orange in 2024.[10]

Independent Labor councillor Jeffery Whitton is leading an endorsed Labor Party ticket.
