Robin Sibson (4 May 1944 – 19 March 2017)[1] was a British mathematician and educator.
He was a fellow of King's College, Cambridge, professor of statistics at the University of Bath and then vice-chancellor of the University of Kent. He was chief executive of the Higher Education Statistics Agency from 2001[2] until 2009.[3] He was also a member of the Committee for Higher Education and Research (CC-HER),[4] the predecessor to the Steering Committee for Higher Education and Research (CDESR).[5]
He died on 19 March 2017 at the age of 72.[6]

As a follow-up to one of its preliminary contributions to the definition of the concept of citizenship, the CC-HER (Higher Education and Research Committee, predecessor of the CDESR) adopted, at its 6th plenary session on 16–18 March 1999, an outline project called "University as site of citizenship" and instructed its Bureau and its Secretariat to develop the project further.
