In August 2024, in the wake of the Hema Committee report, two women accused Sajin Baabu of sexual abuse while they were newcomers in the film industry, one of which included an attempt to rape. The director admitted to ’mistakes on his part‘ and said that he had apologized to both the women, attributing the behaviour to patriarchal conditioning.[16]
