Shalini Passi is a Delhi-based art and design collector, art, design, and fashion patron, philanthropist, art and design advisor, and artist.[1][2] She is a member of the Khoj Advisory Board since 2012[3] and continues to serve as patron of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale.[4]

Art and collection

[edit]

Passi has been a member of the Advisory Board of Khoj (the not-for-profit contemporary arts organisation based in Delhi) since 2012, which facilitates and supports the development of experimental contemporary art practice in India and South Asia. She is also a patron of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale.[citation needed]

In 2018, Passi started her own foundation, The Shalini Passi Art Foundation, and MASH India, which explores the intersection of the arts and promotes emerging artists in India.[5]

Passi regularly loans works from her collection to exhibitions and art events, including Kusum by Mrinalini Mukherjee, which was loaned to the Kochi-Muziris Biennale in 2018.[6] In September 2022, Passi organised the MASH Young Artists’ Exhibition: Fleeting Identities[7][8] which aimed at fostering the search for visual artists with an unfiltered and transparent process of Open Call.

Passi held an exhibition called “The Warp and Weft of Perception”[9] and a solo art exhibition of paintings, “Through my Eyes”, at the Visual Arts Gallery in New Delhi.[10]

Philanthropy

[edit]

Since 2010, Passi has been involved in educating underprivileged children in Delhi, through workshops that provide opportunities for children to learn about arts and crafts. She supports the Delhi Society for the Welfare of Special Children.[11]

In February 2021, Shalini Passi and her spouse Sanjay Passi donated Ten Crore Rupees to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.[12][13]

In 2021, Passi raised funds for Covid Relief India by organising an online exhibition.[14][15]
