Shashi Pratap Shahi

Shashi Pratap Shahi (born 1^st December 1964) is an Indian academician, researcher, social activist, a renowned psephologist and an excellent administrator. His principal area of study is Political Science and International Relations. Professor Shahi has been teaching Political Science in different universities in Bihar since 1990. Presently Prof Shahi is serving as a Vice Chancellor of Magadh University Bodh Gaya Bihar.

Prof S P Shahi is a key figure in the political science, psephology and International relations  which ha enlightened the academic fraternity . His research works have made numerous contributions to India’s foreign policy, parliamentary form of government, democracy, subaltern development, consequences of ethnic violence, democracy and education. He presented his pioneering research paper “Review and Exploration of Mechanism of Inclusive and Quality Education in Bihar” in Harvard University, Boston, Massachusetts, USA on 27-29 September 2016.

Shahi has served Nalanda College, Bihar Sharif, A. N. S College, Barh and A. N. College Patna . All these colleges are presently  constituent units of Patliputra University which came into existence in 2018 after bifurcation of erstwhile Magadh University. A. N. College Patna is the premier institution of Bihar. This College has been accredited as grade ' A' thrice by NAAC and has been accorded CPE status thrice by UGC. When, Shahi joined A. N. College Patna, its third time accreditation was overdue. Under his leadership, A. N. College Patna was accredited as grade 'A' by NAAC with highest ever CGPA 3.27/4. Before joining as the Vice- Chancellor of Magadh University, he ensured the submission of SSR (Self Study Report ) of A N College Patna for the fourth cycle of NAAC Accreditation and his relentless efforts for the quest of excellence resulted into NAAC  A+ grade ( CGPA 3.36/4 ) for A N College Patna . His stint at A N College Patna is marked by tremendous developmental activities and progressive increase in CGPA of NAAC Accreditation. Under his leadership, this college was included in “DBT Star College Scheme”. He was also member of Syndicate and other statutory bodies and also member of NAAC. As a Principal, Shahi has demonstrated effectively managing human and capital resources in A. N. College Patna and received Best Principal Award by His Excellency Governor of Bihar. A N College Patna was also awarded Best College in Bihar by His Excellency Governor of Bihar. Additionally he also received numbers of award by government and academic institution.
