SouthSouthNorth (SSN) is a non-profit organization operating from Cape Town, South Africa.[1] with two decades of expertise in the areas of social development and climate change. SSN works to reduce structural poverty in Latin America, Asia, and sub-Saharan Africa by executing community-based adaptation and mitigation initiatives and strengthening Southern capacity.[2] SouthSouthNorth (SSN) fosters deep collaboration, partnerships, and policy and knowledge interventions to promote national and regional responses to climate change. SSN accomplishes this through facilitating communication, improving capacity, and mobilizing resources to creatively address the opportunities and challenges posed by climate change.[3]
The organization engages in close collaboration with partners who hold similar views on sustainable development.[4]
Vision- A climate resilient world, where ethical and equitable resource management drives a sustainable future.
Mission- To mobilise capabilities and resources to enable equitable, climate-resilient development.[5]
Goal: To increase the South's ability for sustainable development and to discover answers for climate change.

In late 1999, during the inter-sessional Subsidiary Body meeting of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Bonn, Germany, Hélène Connor (HELIO International), Emilio La Rovere (COPPE Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), Steve Thorne, and Stefan Raubenheimer met and formed SouthSouthNorth (SSN).[1]
1999 saw the start of group activities. Since 2001, organization's operations have been formally organized to coordinate project activities in Asia, Latin America, and Southern Africa. Developing the South's ability for sustainable development and addressing global climate change are the two main objectives.[6]

- SouthSouthNorth (SSN) has fostered deep collaboration, partnerships, and policy and knowledge interventions to promote responses to climate change in Southern Africa.[7]
- SSN also improves the availability of climate knowledge for poor nations by mediating formalized contacts between diverse stakeholders.
- SSN again helps decision-makers achieve development that is compatible with the climate through guiding the creation and application of policies[8]
- SSN provide guidance to policy makers during the formulation and implementation process, enabling them to provide development that is climate friendly.[9]
