Sreepur (Bengali: শ্রীপুর) is a city in central Bangladesh, located in Gazipur District in the division of Dhaka. It is the administrative and urban centre of Sreepur Upazila. About 126,249 people live here which makes this city the 36th largest city in Bangladesh.

Demographics
[edit]According to the 2022 Bangladesh census, Sreepur city had a population of 258,946 and a literacy rate of 82.18%.[3]: 388–394
According to the 2011 Bangladesh census, Sreepur city had 31,470 households and a population of 126,249. 25,077 (19.86%) were under 10 years of age. Sreepur had a literacy rate (age 7 and over) of 63.30%, compared to the national average of 51.8%, and a sex ratio of 880 females per 1000 males.[2]
Administration
[edit]Sreepur city is governed by a Paurashava named Sreepur municipality which consists of 9 wards and 20 mahallas. Sreepur municipality occupies an area of 46.90 km2 of the total city area. The entire city is administrated by Sreepur municipality.[4]
