The women's 200 metre breaststroke competition of the swimming events at the 1959 Pan American Games took place on 1 September.[1][2] The last Pan American Games champion was Mary Lou Elsenius of US.[3][4][5][6][7]

This race consisted of four lengths of the pool, all in breaststroke.[8]
