Takaya Oishi (大石 尚哉, Oishi Takaya, born July 7, 1972) is a Japanese former footballer.

Playing career[edit]

Oishi was born in Shizuoka on July 7, 1972. After graduating from the University of Tsukuba, he joined Verdy Kawasaki in 1995. Generally, he was the back-up to Japan national team goalkeeper Shinkichi Kikuchi. In 1997, he played many matches because Kikuchi got hurt. In April 1998, he moved to Sanfrecce Hiroshima on loan. However, he did not make any appearances and he returned to Verdy Kawasaki in September. In 1999, he moved to Japan Football League (JFL) club Yokohama FC. The club were champions for two years in a row (19992000). In 1999, he was the regular goalkeeper, but lost his place in the line-up the following year. In 2001, he moved to JFL club Jatco TT (later Jatco). He played many matches in two seasons and retired at the end of the 2002 season.
