Allegiance to Nazi Germany?

[edit]

Honestly a disgrace, he was one of my relatives and these allegations are completely fake and written by a ignorant historian. Haptversin (talk) 20:03, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Haptversin Wikipedia policy is to go with what is in cited sources and not with what related parties claim. —C.Fred (talk) 21:54, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
...And the sources indicate service in the Spanish military with no indication that he served with Germany during WWII. In the absence of a source, I have removed that claim from the article. —C.Fred (talk) 22:01, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@C.Fred: I reintroduced his WWII service with a source, which clearly indicates that he was a volunteer in the Blue Division.
@Haptversin: Being related to the subject of a Wikipedia article can't be a justification or excuse to push for historical whitewash of unpleasant facts, but may very well constitute a breach of WP:COI, with appropriate consequences. Also, you should keep in mind that personal attacks are unacceptable here per WP:NPA, so I strongly advise you to think twice before you decide to label someone as "ignorant" next time.

@Sundostund Thank you for providing a source to verify his participation in the Blue Division. —C.Fred (talk) 21:33, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@C.Fred: And there is another source as well, this time from NYT. — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 03:02, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
