According to Dolmetsch (http://www.dolmetsch.com/cdefsw.htm), his Jewish name was Charles Levy, and his date of death was 16h February. Ogg 18:33, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aha, I see no reponse whatsoever to my interesting comment above. Nothing daunted, here's another one. Britannica, and 60 other sources, give his name as "Emil" rather than "Emile". Does anybody care?

He was French. And in French it is Émile, not Emil.

I am a relatively new and technologically unsavvy contributor to Wikipedia. However, I note with alarm that "Waldteufel" directs to a 21st-century musical project and not to the composer. Is anyone up for changing this - so that simply typing "Waldteufel" would lead us to the French composer and not a musical group of dubious fame ? Hubacelgrand 02:51, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
