New section??
[edit]I think this part
The city's ryokans and public onsen are amply supplied by the same volcanic source. When Chiba University and Tokyo's Institute for Sustainable Energy Policies compiled a list of prefectures meeting demands for reusable energy, Oita ranked number one with a 25.2% rate of self-sufficiency through the use of geothermal energy and hot spring heat.
doesn't belong in the tourism section which is where it is now. It also mentions "the city" but it doesn't specify which city. Wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to deal with this. Bpcon98 (talk) 01:03, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
Macronising
[edit]I've moved the page from Oita Prefecture to Ōita Prefecture as per the guidlines on WP:MOS-JP. I've also corrected all the double redirects. Bobo12345 11:38, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Horse meat
[edit]To my knowledge (which is pretty good as I actually live here in Oita-ken), Oita is not famous for it's horse meat. That claim to fame belongs to nearby province Kumamoto. Does anyone have a claim to back this statement up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.237.151.1 (talk) 01:16, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
The recent education scandal

Tourism
[edit]"Visitors particularly relish the effects of burial in steaming hot volcanic sands."
Burial is... not the right word here. And this sentence is hilarious. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.236.240.156 (talk) 12:56, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
Crowdstrike?
[edit]What does the paragraph on Crowdstrike have to do with Oita, Japan? Crowdstrike is a Texas company. 146.115.70.178 (talk) 16:02, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- It looks like it was an error. I just went ahead and removed it. Wermod (talk) 18:27, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
