Metric designation

[edit]

Changed "6.2x52mm" and "6.14x51mm" to "6x52mm". First, the .243-diameter bullets are referred to as "6 mm" bullets. Second, this follows the same naming convention as many other cartridges, such as 5.45 (actual diameter 5.6 mm), 5.56 (actual diameter 5.7 mm), 7x57 (actual diameter 7.24 mm), 7.62 (actual diameter 7.82 mm), 8x57 (actual diameter 8.2 mm), etc. There are exceptions, like the 9.3 mm cartridges - but those are referred to as "9.3 mm" whereas .243-diameter bullets have always been referred to as "6 mm". Therefore if an alternative metric designation should be present in the article (arguable) 6x52mm makes the most sense. None of these metric designations are "standard" or commonly used so there is no incentive to stick with "6.2x52" or "6.14x51", etc.
