If Akechi Mitsuhide died in 1582, how was he born in 1628? Time machine? Jon 01:30, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Conquest of the Azores[edit]

Why is that listed here with "date unknown", when http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conquest_of_the_Azores says it was on August 2, 1583? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.249.245.7 (talk) 23:47, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Julian or Gregorian?[edit]

After October 4, shouldn't each date be denoted as being under the Gregorian or Julian calendar? This should be true of all date references from October 5, 1582 (Julian calendar - October 15 by Gregorian) to January 13, 1929 (Gregorian calendar - December 31, 1928 by Julian calendar) inclusive. Also note that George Washington's birthday is 11 Feb 1731 by local reckoning which started the new year on March 25, but 22 Feb 1732 by the new reckoning implemented in the British Empire in 1752. Again, the dates should be indicated as whether they are using the Gregorian calendar and modern New Year's Day rules. GBC (talk) 01:09, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
