The 'ten years reign' of Amphictyon[edit]

c. 1490 BC: Cranaus, legendary King of Athens, is deposed after a reign of 10 years by his son-in-law Amphictyon of Thessaly, son of Deucalion and Pyrrha. 1487 BC: Amphictyon, son of Deucalion and Pyrrha and legendary King of Athens, dies after a reign of 10 years and is succeeded by Erichthonius I of Athens, a grandson of Cranaus.

The "ten years of reign" of Amphictyon are three years with the dates given, if my mathematics are good.

Exodus[edit]

"1440s BC: According to the chronologies of the Hebrew Bible, Moses leads the Exodus of the Jews from Egypt, and the Torah is given at Mount Sinai."

Why is this here? Can we at least cite some archeological sources to justify its inclusion? Otherwise, why don't we put "According to The Mummy Returns, the Scorpion King was running around at this time" as well? 194.81.223.66 (talk) 13:46, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

According to Wikipedia's own article on The Exodus "most archaeologists have abandoned the archaeological investigation of Moses and the Exodus as "a fruitless pursuit".[19] A number of theories have been put forward to account for the origins of the Israelites, and despite differing details they agree on Israel's Canaanite origins." This would indicate to me that the mainstream opinion among experts is that the Exodus described in the Hebrew Bible is not an historical event which should appear in the list. I suggest that it be removed otherwise the previous point stands and we should also include The Scorpion King's reign. 194.81.223.66 (talk) 07:32, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
