Please note that this is my first GAR.

  • Is it well-written?: Almost. Couple of issues that need to be corrected in my opinion:

Route to the final:

  • But was agreed with their Scottish opponents to postpone the match for two weeks. Doesn't sound right. Change to "But Queen's and their Scottish opponents agreed to postpone the match for two weeks." Or something similar to that.
  • Noticed on the grid that Blackburn Rovers beat Notts County 4-1. They did not. They won 1-0.

Match

  • The weather was described as "bright and seasonable", - bit pedantic I know, but the comma should change to a full stop.
  • Rovers kicked off, and play quickly turned in the Scottish team's favour and they made the first two attacks- change "and play quickly turned" to "but play quickly turned".
  • After around 30 minutes of play, the Hargreaves passed the ball to his team-mate Douglas who went on to score Rovers' first goal- the Hargreaves? Remove that the.

  • Match rules should be centre and not to the left.


  • Is it verifiable?: Yes, and with a lot of reliable sources, exceeds expectations.
  • Is it broad in coverage?: Yes. Impressed with the Route to the final section, with it clearly describing the teams road to the final.
  • Is it neutral?: Yes, no complaints here.
  • Is it stable?: Yes, no edit wars at the time of posting.
  • Is it illustrated, if possible, with images?: Since the 1884 cup no longer exists, yes it's illustrated well.

Thanks, I've made all the amendments as requested with the exception of the addition of the minutes that the goals were scored in - I haven't been able to find a reliable source which stated specifically to the minute when each goal was scored. Miyagawa (talk) 18:20, 10 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
