18th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment18th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment – To bring page into consistency with recent consensus on ACW unit naming conventions at Wikipedia talk: WikiProject_Military_history#Retitling_of_Civil_War_Regiments/Removal_of_Volunteer. Got error message when I tried to move it, page already exists. How to remedy? Historical Perspective 2 (talk) 14:35, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The attempt to move is following through with a consensus already reached at the above project link. Posted here seeking advice on the technical process of the move. Learned elsewhere that a speedy deletion request for the intended destination page needs to be submitted. As there are no comments here, I'm going to go ahead and get the move going.Historical Perspective 2 (talk) 20:19, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fascinating Comparison

[edit]

It's fascinating that the 18th's entry is twice as long as the entry for the Massachusetts "Irish" 9th Infantry while the 9th had twice as many KIAs. What do you make of that? 2600:8800:4684:BD00:9C71:722B:86C:DBFD (talk) 17:50, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
