Merger proposal[edit]

I believe this page, 1903 East Florida Seminary football team and 1904 East Florida Seminary football team should be merged into an article named East Florida Seminary football team, as the existing articles are quite short, and are not likely to be substantially expanded. - Donald Albury 21:14, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Personally, I hate the ones that are like 1920s Richmond compared to those which go by year. Ruins navboxes done for yearly titles, such as the florida state champion navbox, or richmond football, for one. 1903 has six games to cover. Cake (talk) 00:10, 5 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's generally best to avoid merging season articles, but in this case, I think it's for the best. As stated, they're stubs and won't be likely expanded, as the East Florida Seminary only played a total of 10 intercollegiate football games (IF you count those mysterious "Tampa" contests) and there's little to no documentation for any of them. Unless new sources are found, it's best to merge them into an article with an introductory description of the program followed by sections for each season that include a results table and any necessary season-specific info. Just my two cents. Zeng8r (talk) 01:48, 5 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
FWIW, Stetson played that Tampa team also. Cake (talk) 04:29, 5 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also OP, see how we try to avoid that in other cases, as an artifact of a simpler time, though I'm willing to discuss whether this an exception. Cake (talk) 06:58, 5 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
