Iowa Conference[edit]

A check of Newspapers.com overwhelmingly shows that the WP:COMMONNAME of the conference in 1974 was the "Iowa Conference" (1,063 hits in Iowa newspapers from September to December 1974) and not the "Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference" (two hits in Iowa newspapers during the same four-month period). Cbl62, okay it makes the most sense to take a look at all the templates at Category:American Rivers Conference football standings templates and adjust the naming scheme accordingly. Okay, I have newspapers citations for the templates up through 2004, which suggest "Iowa Conference" was common to that point, although it seems that the full "Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference" became more common sometime between then and name change in 2018 to American Rivers Conference.
