Post season results

[edit]

Why are post-season results on this page - these results belong on the 1981 World Series, 1981 NLCS and ALCS, and 1981 NLDS and ALDS pages. Even the regular season results should be moved to their own page. This page is about the strike only; the post season info needs to be removed and properly linked to the appropriate page.--CrazyTalk 01:10, August 29, 2005 (UTC)

CrazyTalk is correct, the standings don't belong here. I'll check back in a couple days, and then I'm going to remove them.--Bookandcoffee 17:42, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Introduction

[edit]

We are told that "The 1981 Major League Baseball strike was the fifth work stoppage in Major League Baseball since the 1972 Major League Baseball strike."

If the Category:Major League Baseball labor disputes is to be believed, it was the second strike, and the first since 1972.

I'm not sure where this enumeration comes from (there were labor disputes in 19th and early 20th century baseball), but it requires some explanation. WHPratt (talk) 14:41, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This was surprising to me also, but it was mostly correct (it was actually the fourth stoppage since the 1972 strike).[1]. Most of the other strikes/lockouts were relatively minor and aren't likely to merit standalone articles, so they won't show up in the category. --Bongwarrior (talk) 00:25, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
