Hi, I am going to be reviewing this article which is currently up for Good Article Nomination. I will have the full review up in a few hours. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 21:48, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GA review (see here for criteria)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose): b (MoS):
    • There needs to be consistency with dates i.e. November 12, or November 12th. You have both of them in the article, it's best to either add the ending, or remove it. This is especially prevalent in the Season Summary section.
    • You may want to link the units of measurement like millimetres, knots, etc.
    • In the Tropical Storm Lynn (Elang) section, what does Tai O mean? Is it a mountain or a city?
    • (Tropical Storm Maury (Huling) section) "Southwesterly vertical wind shear was impacting Maury at this time, leading to a tilting of the cyclone with height to the northeast." Sentence is somewhat awkward.
    • (Tropical Storm Susan section) what is the 20th parallel?
    • (Typhoon Lee (Dinang) section) I'm confused as to how the death toll was extremely overestimated. How did it drop from 2,764 to 188?
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:

There are a couple minor things with the prose and MOS that need to be fixed, otherwise it's a well written article and will be passed after these things are fixed. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 22:31, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think I fixed the issues brought up in #1. Tai O is a location of some sort within Hong Kong...will see if there's a wikipedia article which relates to the place. The mixed date convention has been fixed, and the wording within Maury should be less awkward. I have no idea why Lee's death estimate was initially that high...fixed the wording the eliminate the uncertainty, per MoS. Thegreatdr (talk) 13:28, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Great, since the issues have been addressed, I'll pass the article :) Cyclonebiskit (talk) 13:35, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
