Player of the Series

[edit]

No 'Man of the Series' was awarded in1975, 1979, 1983 and 1987. The first was awarded in 1992. The award was changed to 'Player of the Tournament' in 1999 and then to 'Player of the Series' in 2003 - Ctbolt 02:34, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reliance Cup/Reliance World Cup

[edit]

I know it seems like it would make sense for the competition to have been called the Reliance World Cup, but according to the competition logo (see here), it was simply called the Reliance Cup. Unless he can provide some overwhelming evidence, User:Karlosvoy2 needs to stop changing the article to say "Reliance World Cup". – PeeJay 06:41, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Searching cricinfo, I found a contemporaneous account from Wisden which said If the rest of the Reliance Cup, as it was officially known and seldom called and Allan Border was raised on the shoulders of his team-mates and the gold Reliance Cup placed in his hands. Confusingly the article is titled "Reliance World Cup, 1987-88". Spike 'em (talk) 10:13, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Reliance Cup is also in keeping with the previous instances, which were apparently "The Prudential Cup" (a picture of which I've removed from the infobox). Spike 'em (talk) 10:18, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
