First, please stop saying correction when changing from one source to another. This may be a time when we need to use multiple sources to give a range of deaths. The PAGER-CAT catalog is a compilation of catalogs from seismological organizations and an epidemiological organization. There are eight catalogs in that catalog and usually there are multiple entries (estimates or counts) for each event. When I added it as a source last year, apparently I did not scour the spreadsheet for all values. There are some additional bits of information that I overlooked, and if these are entered into the article, it will give a clearer picture of the total number of deaths, and it will include those that were considered missing by some organizations (but dead by others) and will also state the number of people displaced. That is fine, but what about the figure that the Ecuador president recently gave saying that this years earthquake was the deadliest since the 1949 earthquake? Either he was not aware of the 1987 quake when he made the comment or the death toll for the 1987 earthquake is wrong.
