Results table[edit]

@Rameezraja001: Stop changing the results table. The MQM candidates running as independents that won seats cannot be separated out because you do not have the vote figures for them. Having it in the text is enough information. Number 57 10:30, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Rameezraja001: Firstly, the vote figures are not in the source (there is no consolidated results available on the link provided, only constituency results, and having had a look through about 15% of them, I could not find any reference to MQM candidates.
Secondly, you added these figures to the table without making any deduction from the number of votes or seats won by actual independents. Please remove what you added from the table immediately and provide details of the source. Number 57 11:57, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
In fact, another page on the source you gave shows the original results on this article as being correct (i.e. no seats for the MQM). Not even remotely – this is a huge violation of WP:OR. Unless you have the actual vote figures, not something you have calculated yourself based on a percentage (this leaves a lot of room for error), do not readd them to the article. Also, you have completely ignored the point I made about you not deducting the figures from the total for the independents, meaning the total number of votes and seats was still incorrect. @Rameezraja001: Please do not edit the article further until discussion here has lead to some degree of WP:CONSENSUS or agreement. As suggested by Number 57, information, figures, etc. added to articles should have inline citations referring to reliable sources so that fellow editors and readers can verify the information being added to articles. If you would like a change to be made to the article, please provide reliable sources when you reply to this discussion. Technically, the party did not contest the elections; some of its members ran as independent candidates, not MQM candidates (this is why the academic source for the results does not include them). From this point of view it is misleading to include the party in the results table, although it should be (and is) mentioned in the text that this is what happened using the sources you have provided. Furthermore, none of the sources you have provided give the figures for the number of votes received by the MQM (the fourth one contains nothing of note). Question for administrator[edit]

<Muttahida Qaumi Movement has taken part in this election, the user 'Number 57' is not letting me include MQM in the list of participants with number of seats and voter percentage as reliable and authentic data from a reliable source. user's argument is i have not presented the total number of votes. Although there is no definite source for how many votes MQM obtained, but it is undeniable that MQM did participate and got 13 out of 207 seats with 5.37% percentage of votes obtained from the total cast votes. Not only that, MQM was pivotal in making PPP's government after the election since PPP was unable to make majority so it had to do coalition with MQM. Since MQM separated itself from coalition in 1989, the government didn't have the majority and due to over whelming no confidence votes supported by MQM, PPP government has to be dissolved and new elections were conducted.

I have presented reliable sources with percentage votes and the numnber of seats won by MQM. i don't think that the user's argument is sound regarding completely eliminating an entire party which came third on the polls after PPP, IJI from the list. There were several wrong information regarding MQM prior to my editing that it didn't take part in the election which is entirely false, so i also doubt the source of statistics presented in this article and the source itself for presenting wrong information.

In light of this arguement, My request to the admin is to look into the matter and make a balanced decision based on all these facts in this regard and my request is to mention MQM in the list of election participants since, it had to play significant role, which cannot be ignored, Thanks
