Facade

[edit]

I'm not sure what is meant by "The 1990s in Hong Kong ended in lots of facade". Facade isn't the right word, but I'm not sure what is. Secretlondon 12:18, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ups and Downs of the Stock Market After 1997

[edit]
  • "For any stock that related to the Chinese economy, that had successfully found a Chinese enterprise to invest in or that had a Chinese concept, the share price could multiply drastically within a short period of time." Really? Is this generalising too much? SamgraSamgra 24/11/2005

Yes, perhaps I should add some examples for this point. Such as when China Everbright (a Chinese enterprise directly supervised by the Chinese State Council) invested in the retail fashion compamy- Theme (stock code:990), the share price of Theme doubled from $3 to about $7. MJ Vivian

Migration

Economy

[edit]

Copyedited this section throughout, eliminated wordiness.

Typically, hedge funds/short sellers are blamed for all declines in markets all the time. Someone has to sell in a decline, which usually means institutional selling, since they are a large portion of the market. While hedge funds are usually blamed by column writers/general opinion, banks/mutual funds/etc. also participate in selling when markets decline. So it is superfluous to say--someone sold and the market went down.

So I took out the references to hedge funds. Whatthree16, 12/7/05

Fair use rationale for Image:Hong Kong Market Crash.jpg

[edit]

Image:Hong Kong Market Crash.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
