The 1991 Australian Endurance Championship page says that "The pointscore system allowed a driver to drop his worst result" however the 1991 CAMS Manual says that "in all racing Championships.....if fewer than 7 rounds are conducted all performances will count". Do we have anything to tell us that the 91 AEC was an explicit exception to the general rule? GTHO 01:48, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is common sense. With only two rounds contested, dropping your worst score makes the series utterly pointless. The published pointscores at the time in the respective magazines reflected the two race nature. --Falcadore 02:46, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Points system

[edit]

The article currently states that “Points were awarded 20-15-12-10-8-6-4-3-2-1 based on the top ten race positions”. Do we have a reference to support this please? GTHO (talk) 08:47, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'd start with the references already provided for in the article. --Falcadore (talk) 09:18, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately none of the current references cover the points system used in either the 1991 AEC or the 1991 AMC. GTHO (talk) 02:19, 15 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Do they have the points themselves? --Falcadore (talk) 10:46, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No, none of the current references makes any mention of the Endurance Championship points scored by any of the drivers, at either of the rounds or in total for the championship. Likewise for the Manufacturers Championship. GTHO (talk) 21:49, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I just dug out the November 1991 issue of Racing Car News, but frustratingly I had eye surgery yesterday and I can't read it. --Falcadore (talk) 23:38, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Has there been any progress on the verification of the points information in the article? GTHO (talk) 22:08, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Still be at least another week until I can read print that small. --Falcadore (talk) 00:37, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. Good luck with your recovery. GTHO (talk) 21:54, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Given the lack of available supporting information, I propose to delete the unreferenced points system sentence, the unreferenced AEC positions shown against each driver and the unreferenced AEC Points shown for each driver. GTHO (talk) 08:52, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Unreferenced points and position information deleted. GTHO (talk) 02:15, 12 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
