A few comments/questions

[edit]

1. Is it worth puting in the actual question? 2. The opening part suggests the ALP supported a no case. A source I've read (http://www.ntstate7.com.au/sites/default/files/page-files/SSCInfopaper_TermsandCond.pdf) states (put not intended!) "The referendum was not accompanied by a published ‘No Case’ as there had been no official negative position taken by any member of the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly." [p.11] 3. Having a look at the results on the NT election site (http://www.ntec.nt.gov.au/NTEC%20Forms%20and%20Documents/Reports%20and%20Plans/Statehood%20Referendum%202008%20Result.pdf) it seems the vote was yes in the static polling stations on election day, prepoll and postals but dismally in mobile booths and provisionals. Someone with more knowledge on NT elections may be able to help but that suggests to be that people in remote areas (I'm guessing that's mostly Aboriginals) were heavily against?

Any thoughts? Tigerman2005 (talk) 03:55, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
