De-Construct.Net[edit]

This website is repeatedly cited in the article, but I don't see why it should be considered a reliable source. It appears to be some kind of extremist (pro-Serbian?) political website - it has an image depicting Barrack Obama as satan on its front page along with an article calling Vladamir Putin "a true statesman and the greatest leader the world has seen since World War II" for instance, and provides no information I can see on the credentials of the people who write for it. I concur, this is an unacceptable source, and needs to be replaced before the article can be considered B-class or better. Parsecboy (talk) 14:45, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've done a slash-and-burn first-version removal. Buckshot06 (talk) 06:55, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
de-construct.net is still being used as a reference to one sentence. (Hohum @) 14:10, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing cited to this website seemed controversial, but if it is indeed some kind of extremist website, I guess we should not be using it. Please list removed claims here, so that others can try to find more reliable refs for them. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 17:19, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1999? Or 1998?[edit]

I've read various secondary sources that state this aircraft was shot down in March 1999, but I remember it in the news and where I was when I saw the footage, and I was only there in early 1998. Am I having a "senior moment"? Evets70 (talk) 16:17, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, you're having a "senior moment" there. :) Aside from all the sources, I also remember seeing this in the news when it happened and I know exactly where I was in March 1999 - Serbia (Yugoslavia). NATO aircraft were really fond of that place at the time (which wasn't the case for any other timeframe except March - June 1999). :) BytEfLUSh | Talk! 23:25, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think the article can be considered for a WP:GAN. Any editors interested in co-nominating this? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 01:51, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it should be nominated for anything until all of the "references" are properly formatted and displayed without any "Cite errors". 100.37.25.224 (talk) 23:24, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for fixing this. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:44, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Related to bombing of Chinese Embassy in Belgrade?[edit]

At the time I heard a rumor that some of the wreckage had been purchased by agents of the Chinese government and brought to their embassy (which one of the Serbian civilians who lived in the area and found some of the wreckage has verified), five weeks later the U.S. "accidentally" sent guided bombs straight into the building (and fifteen years later China released their own stealth bomber, the Chengdu J-20)...something should be added to the article Historian932 (talk) 14:29, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

1999 F-117A shootdownLockheed F-117A Nighthawk shootdown – Only one stealth aircraft (let alone F-117) has ever been shot down, and that downing happens to be the topic of this article, so there is no need to have the year the incident took place in the title. Amanuensis Balkanicus (talk) 21:24, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Some articles do not need a year for disambiguation when, in historic perspective, the event is easily described without it. This was the only F-117 ever shot down. Keeping 1999 in the title doesn't make this easier to identify. On the contrary, it makes it more difficult since most people wouldn't know off the top of their head that this event took place in 1999, but they would know it involved an F-117. Mig shot down[edit]

There are versions of the event that state that it was a Mig-29 what shot down the F-117. This should be mentioned in the article.
