Note: Isooctanol redirects here, yet the article tells me that isooctanol and 2-ethylhexanol are not synonyms. I do not know how to remove the redirect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.111.4.52 (talk) 18:45, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hopefully clarified. Isooctanol as used invariably refers to 2-EH; however, correctly isooctanol is 6-methylheptanol.Lexyboy (talk) 11:28, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
