Section organization

[edit]
As this article title reflects the subject is the football team would there be any objections to moving the roster above the schedule section? Also @Cbl62 and Jweiss11:.
College football team/season articles often have multiple charts. I find the schedule to be the most important, as it conveys in a nutshell the results of the season. Moreover, the rosters are often incomplete for most college football seasons (in this case, the roster lists only 17 players out of a roster of more than 50). For these reasons, I have long favored placing the schedule above the roster. Cbl62 (talk) 12:58, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
On a related point, I agree that these articles might be better called "season" articles, e.g., 2001 Penn Quakers football season. The "season" format is the nomenclature used in most sports, e.g., NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, etc. However, and for whatever reason, the college football project adopted a different path (using the "team" nomenclature) back in around 2006. As the "team" approach is now the uniform practice for college football team/season articles, it would be unwise IMO to make "one-off" changes to individual articles or subsets. Thanks, it would be more in-line with what I have seen, especially with categories, as well as the others you mentioned. That is what caused me to look at it. Sometimes the reasoning of past things are not as clear as they were at the time when looked at in the present. I do see your point on the incomplete rosters as opposed to the more complete season content and certainly the current nomenclature. Making single moves, moves inconsistent with a whole set, especially without project assistance, would not be a good thing. It is just that sometimes what happens in in the past can be left as is, but certainly might be better if changed, as that would seem to be the whole idea of consistency. When the team roster content is added it certainly makes it a team styled article though. It is just some things I ran across and giving my opinion but I will leave that to all of you.
