[edit]

2001 term United States Supreme Court opinions of David Souter, 2001 term United States Supreme Court opinions of William Rehnquist, 2001 term United States Supreme Court opinions of John Paul Stevens, 2001 term United States Supreme Court opinions of Sandra Day O'Connor, 2001 term United States Supreme Court opinions of Antonin Scalia, and 2001 term United States Supreme Court opinions of Anthony Kennedy are all duplicates of this article, just showing the opinions of a specific justice. No further information is on those articles, so I suggest merge/redirecting them here. I will do so in one week if there is no opposition. Reywas92Talk 22:37, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your description of these lists and conclusion are incorrect, and I strongly oppose any merger or redirecting. All of these lists accomplish very different things. This term list for the whole Court is just for bench opinions, for which it only summarizes votes and authorship in the color-coded table. The lists of opinions by justice for the 2001 term include not only bench opinions but also their opinions related to orders (such as dissents from the denial of certiorari; see http://www.supremecourtus.gov/opinions/09relatingtoorders.html for the current term's examples) and in-chambers opinions. Further, the goal is to eventually expand the lists of opinions by justice with text summaries of those opinions, (see 2004 term United States Supreme Court opinions of Antonin Scalia for a decent though still incomplete example). postdlf (talk) 03:25, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to assume this is resolved and remove the merge tags. postdlf (talk) 13:58, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
