Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... I had reverted the G5 once, taking the responsibility of the article per accordance with WP:BANREVERT, but my edit and category changes were reverted by the nominator. I am taking the responsibility of this article mostly because it is notable and meets WP:LASTING. --Raymond3023 (talk) 13:10, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the "lasting"? I can't see it. Alas, if we have an article for every incident of communal violence that takes place in India, we'd have twice as many articles as the English Wikipedia currently holds. Perhaps we should, perhaps we should not, but the manner in which the legal system and media of India operates means that due process often takes five years or more and even the most up-market newspapers are akin to UK tabloids. It might be better just to have a list somewhere, since most of these things will never develop beyond stubs. - Sitush (talk) 15:02, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Like you have said "It might be better just to have a list somewhere, since most of these things will never develop beyond stubs", if there was a proposal that we should get rid of all these stubs and make a single page regarding the incidents that could meet WP:LASTING, it would be better, but right now there are too many articles that fail WP:LASTING still they have survived AFD. But given the current circumstances, this article would survive AFD. Though I can hope for a proposal that I mentioned, which would at least avoid creation of these stubs. Title[edit]

This article is biassed in many ways. I've already fixed a couple of misrepresentations of the sources but I actually think the title itself may be a problem, too. The so-called lynching occurred after some people had allegedly been shot by the police but that gets only a passing mention here and there is no context provided.
