Inconsistent results[edit]

Results for the National Assembly elections from various sources are inconsistent. This even applies to the ECZ, who state that the ULP won two seats in their seat total document, but in the constituency results it can be seen that the ULP in fact won three seats (Livingstone, Lukulu East and Lukulu West).

I have compiled the results table from the constituency data, which also contains one inconsistency – the number of valid votes cast. This is because they have incorrectly totalled the results for Nakonde, omitting the 11,935 votes cast for the MMD candidate. Also note that I have included the vote figures for the UPND and the FDD in the UDA totals, as the parties were part of that alliance (the one candidate listed as UPND won a seat). The results published in this source (2006) are quite different from those published in this new source (2021) (click on "2006 tripartite election", then on "view results", to see all costituencies).

As a consequence:

for UDA: 610,608 + 5,290 = 615,898;
for RP: 7,349 - 795 = 6,554;
valid votes: 2,713,165 + 4,495 = 2,717,660.

The new source includes two constituencies in which elections were postponed; including them, results change and valid votes are 2,740,624 (= 2,717,660 + 11,894 Lupososhi + 11,070 Kabompo East). --151 cp (talk) 19:46, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think the figures in the 'new' source are wrong, and a result of user input error – possibly as the results were put into the new system manually or via a lookup system with some errors.

For Rufunsa I think the new figure for the UDA vote is that for Chongwe (which is the constituency above Rufunsa in the original results table), so I suspect it may be an input error by whoever created the new tables. If the new figures are correct, then voter turnout in the constituency was 95%, which seems unlikely.
For Mwense, the same thing appears to have happened; the UDA figure is the same as for Mambilima, the constituency listed above it in the original results.
For Chitambo, the UDA figure is the same as for Muchinga, the constituency listed below Chitambo in the original results.
For Kwacha, the RP figure is identical to the UDA figure, which while not impossible, seems unlikely and looks again like a user input error.

Regarding the two vacant seats, we don't usually add in figures from delayed elections. However, we could note the final results in the prose in the National Assembly section. Cheers, Number 5 7 20:41, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Right observations, I agree with you; regarding 2011 general election, the "new" source shows different datas in nine costituencies (Kabushi, Kanyama, Katombola, Mandevu, Mkaika, Mazabuka Central, Nalolo, Nchelenge and Solwezi Central), but this discrepancy could be caused by the same reason. About delayed elections, 2021 election summary includes votes of Kaumbwe constituency (in which elections were held on 21 October); regarding 2006 election, however, this source shows a different number of votes for Kabompo East constituency, and knowing the "official result" seems difficult. --151 cp (talk) 18:14, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
