No penalties for Hamilton

[edit]

Why was Hamilton not penalised for dangerous driving whilst behind a safety car in wet conditions? The re-analysis of the incident proved enough evidence to withdraw the penalty against Vettel, but why was the penalty not delt to Hamilton? This issue must be adressed either here or in the 2007 Japanese GP article, its non-inclusion is propegating misinformation.

Its also worth mentioning that comments made by Hamilton about his treatment in Formula One during his debut season are unfounded. His off-track relationship with Alonso and penalties delt to McLaren have no bearing on how he, as a driver, has been treated by anyone else, in fact, the opposite is true in that he recieves a deserved ammount of praise for his debut season. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.190.196.150 (talk) 06:03, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Won't Alonso still be able to win the championship if he finishes 1st and Hamilton 2nd as they'd both have the same number of race wins? Marky-Son 16:21, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Correct. Although I'd dread attempting to verify related articles if there was then an Alonso win and Hamilton retirement in Brazil. 82.13.151.148 22:57, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't he crash with 29 to go? Meaning he crashed on Lap 27, not 24? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.8.107.97 (talk) 21:51, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted race summary

[edit]

I tried to improve the race summary, with a better description of the events that led up to Hamilton's retirement, which are barely covered in the current version. Unfortunately, it was deleted within a minute because somebody deemed it original research. Since when was writing a race summary original research? The current summary has no citations, why isn't it original research too? 140.147.11.55 (talk) 19:35, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
