I removed the "unsourced" tag in the Game Notes section as I wrote summaries for each game with references. In addition, I removed the BCS ranking of #2 as it is deceptive being that there are no "final" post-championship game BCS rankings. That may cause confusion to first-time readers in the college football page. --350z33 (talk) 18:41, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ole Miss Game was meaningless[edit]

So you're saying that the Ole Miss game DID count? It seems that this game being meaningless is a FACT, not an opinion. In fact, this game proves that Bill Hancock is full of it when he says "Every Game Counts." Florida had no consequence for this loss. The team was named the champion despite having this loss when there was another team that didn't have any losses at all. It is pretty much totally factual that the Ole Miss game was meaningless and had no consequence. It did not count. So why is it vandalism to note this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.138.42.162 (talk) 01:41, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You're stating an opinion, one that I personally disagree with as the team played with more determination after that loss. However, neither your opinion nor mine really matters here, as articles cannot include opinions, and definitely cannot include "woulda-coulda-shoulda"s like your mention of Utah. Please see wp:original and wp:NPOV for the relevant policies. Zeng8r (talk) 02:32, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's not an opinion. It's a fact that the loss had no consequence. If a team with one loss is the champion, and a team with zero losses exists, the loss, and therefore the game, didn't count. That's not opinion. It's simple math. It shows just how absurd the BCS is. I can't see how you can argue that it is an opinon that a loss for which a team suffered no consequence was a meaningless game.

Gators Consensus National Champions not included[edit]

It seems that the Gators, finishing their season ranked #1 in both the AP and the Coaches polls, should be given the title "Consensus National Champions". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.196.82.237 (talk) 19:25, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
